I opened this up and played it for one night...fantastic sound, great price, and it is 'heavy'. The finish is remarkable and detailed. The next day the LCD went out but it still worked, then quit completely. I ran down to my Walmart and they gladly exchanged it for another one. This one lasted two days. Well I liked the sound so much I tried a third time, this one lasted three days. Exchanged it again...Took the fourth unit off the shelf and took it home. LCD went out the next AM....The remote sucks, it is intermittent and the 'ipod' look alike scroll button does not do what it implies it is supposed to do. I will keep this "brick" and use it w/o the LCD function until the sound stops, the I will use it as an anchor for my yacht....Don't buy this. Spend a little more and get an iPod speaker from someone else other than GPX...

I purchased this as a gift and upon setting it up, we found that the clock display on the front didn't work at all. Other reviewers mentioned this function going out a couple weeks after opening the box, but I doubt ours worked at any point. So, we've ordered a replacement and I'm hoping it works on second attempt. Otherwise, we'll be getting a refund for sure.

OK. LET ME TELL YOU THIS.. THATS TRUE THAT THE OTHER REWIEWS SAY THAT THE LCD DIES AFTER THE WARRANTY. ITS TRUE. IT HAPPEN LIKE A WEEK ON MINE. OK THATS THE ONLY BAD THING OF THIS. ON THE OTHER SIDE IS THE SOUND!!! ITS GREAT. IT COMES WITH 2 TWEETERS 2 SMALL SPEAKERS AND A SUBWOOFER ON THE BACK... YOU JUST HOOK UP A BASS AMPIFIED SPEAKER ON THE BASS LINE OUT AND YOU HAVE A BIG STEREO SYSTEM.... IT IS LOUDER THAN MY SONY 189.99 SYSTEM THAT HAS A UGLY 8'' SUBWOOFER THAT TROWS MORE AIR THAN SOUND.... MOST OF OTHER IPOD SPEAKERS WILL NEVER SOUND LIKE THIS WITH THE SAME PRIZE. HELL NO!! THIS HAS ZERO DISTORTION AND CLEAR SOUND.. AND FOR THE LCD I DONT EVEN USE. I JUST NEED SOUND AND SKIP MY SONGS WITH A REMOTE..... IF YOU WANT LCD FEATURES DONT BUY THIS. YOULL BE DISAPONTED... BUT THE SOUND IS BOMB!!!!!!

I was very happy with this dock while it worked. It sounded good and I liked its features. However, after five months, the display stopped working, and without the display you can't access any of those features - hard to tune the radio, for example, if you can't tell what frequency you're tuned to. As this has only a 90 day warranty, I am also stuck with a $100 door stop.
